As the founder, president, and CEO of the private equity real estate firm Greenfield Partners, LLC, Eugene Gorab manages over $7 billion in real estate and capital investments. Eugene Gorab is also an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), a nonprofit organization committed to promoting educational forums, research initiatives, and knowledge sharing among its worldwide corporate membership. As part of its mission to disseminate valuable information about the dynamics of the real estate industry, PREA hosts the annual PREA Institute. The PREA Institute is established in collaboration with major universities, real estate centers, and industry leaders across the United States to discuss issues and developments in the real estate industry. In 2018, the PREA Institute was held at the Tata Innovation Center on Cornell Tech’s Roosevelt Island campus. Spanning two days in June, the event opened with welcome remarks by Eric Wurtzebach, committee chair of the PREA Institute and senior managing director of Macquarie Capital. Professors and faculty directors from Cornell University and New York University spoke on macroeconomic trends and expectations, urban policies and infrastructure, hospitality industry trends, and relevant technology trends impacting the industry.
