An accomplished real estate investment executive with more than two decades of experience, Eugene Gorab is the President of Greenfield Partners, LLC, in Westport, Connecticut. Possessing a master of business administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Bucknell University, Eugene Gorab now serves Bucknell as a member of the board of trustees.
A private liberal arts and engineering college in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Bucknell recently announced the opening of a new facility on campus called Academic East. A center for high-tech innovation, Academic East is a 78,000-square-foot building situated close to the Academic West building. With the opening of Academic East, the university has doubled the amount of lab space available to the college of engineering, and added additional space for offices, classrooms, and dedicated research spaces for the department of education. Featuring 25 labs with advanced research equipment and technology, Academic East is intended to support Bucknell’s mission of promoting hands-on, experiential learning. All of the Bucknell community, including first-year students, have access to the cutting-edge research equipment. Speaking of the value of encouraging students to explore their research capabilities, biomedical and electrical engineering professor Joseph Tranquillo commented, "Bucknell is known not only for what our graduates know, but for what they can do."
