An MBA graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Eugene Gorab has served as the President and CEO of Greenfield Partners, LLC, in South Norwalk, Connecticut, for more than two decades. Eugene Gorab is active in several industry-related professional organizations, including the Real Estate Roundtable (RER), an advocacy arm of the real estate industry. One of the major policy initiatives that RER currently supports is the Invest in America Act, a US House Bill introduced in September 2018 by GOP Representative Kenny Marchant and Democratic Representative Joseph Crowley. The law would repeal the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act of 1980 (FIRPTA), which imposes a hefty tax burden on foreign investments in domestic real estate. RER believes a FIRPTA repeal would create significant opportunities for new capital infusion into US real estate and infrastructure. RER believes the repeal would also be a mechanism for job growth.
