Eugene Gorab | President and Chief Executive Officer of Greenfield Partners, LLC
Eugene Gorab is an alumnus of Bucknell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1985. During his time at Bucknell, Gorab served as President of his local branch of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Gorab began his career as a Project Engineer for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., where he oversaw development of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen production facilities in Toronto, Ontario, as well as Ohio and California.
After two years in the field of engineering, Eugene Gorab entered graduate school at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an internationally recognized business school. In 1989, he graduated with his Master of Business Administration and accepted the position of Acquisitions Officer at JMB Realty Corporation. In his role at JMB, Gorab oversaw project investment, acquisitions, and growth.
In 1991, Eugene Gorab became a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Starwood Capital Group, LLC. At Starwood, a premier real estate equity firm, he successfully executed more than $2 billion in investments over the course of 6 years. A senior member of the company's Investment Committee, Gorab also chaired the firm's Land and Development Groups while serving on the Board of Trustees for Starwood Financial Trust.
Gorab is currently the Chief Executive Officer and President of Greenfield Partners, LLC, a private equity firm he founded in 1997. Based in South Norwalk, Connecticut, the company focuses on the real estate market. In less than 15 years, Eugene Gorab developed Greenfield Partners from a 2-employee operation to an industry leader with 52 staff members, $7 billion in real estate investments, and 3 offices.
