As 2020 began, Schroders Investment Management released its 2020 outlook for the private equity market, which is expected to attract more investors this year. Certain factors will contribute to the performance of private equity in 2020. Decreasing interest rates and rising public market valuations will result in a growing interest in private equity this year. Additionally, private equity is aligned with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks, a prevalent investor issue today. ESG risks are expected to have a huge impact on private equity in 2020. Current issues, such as climate change, appear to be important economic drivers. A separate report published by private markets specialist Preqin says that the next five years will be crucial for the private equity market since 79 percent of private equity investors are set to increase their allocations over that period of time.

Greenfield Partners, LLC, Founder Eugene Gorab also serves as the company’s President and CEO. In addition to his professional endeavors, Eugene Gorab is involved in community work through the Appalachia Service Project (ASP), where he also serves as Director.
ASP ended 2019 by completing its commitment to provide a family with a home just before Christmas. The recipient, Jamie, is a single mother of four children. She is a teacher-aide in a local elementary school, where she serves in a special-needs Pre-K class. Jamie and her children used to live in public housing in what ASP described as a “difficult neighborhood.” Jamie’s family received a four-bedroom home in a safe neighborhood. In a press statement released by ASP, the home was given in return for the kindness of Jamie and her children, who gave up their Christmas presents in 2018 so a neighbor with six children could have a Christmas basket. ASP also thanked the sponsors and volunteers who helped build Jamie’s home. Additionally, ASP reiterated its commitment to providing home repair and replacement to eradicate substandard housing in Central Appalachia. |
