The President of Greenfield Partners, Eugene Gorab has been instrumental in establishing the company as one of the top-performing real estate private equity firms in the country. In addition to an MBA from the University of Chicago, Eugene Gorab earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Bucknell University, where he serves as a trustee. Formerly known as the University of Lewisburg, Bucknell University was founded in 1846 and has since earned high marks, placing 6th among universities that offer undergraduate engineering programs according to U.S. News & World Report 2019 rankings. Besides providing sufficient resources for student learning and postgraduate placement, Bucknell University also excels at student engagement by providing students with opportunities to learn and give back to the community through the Appalachia Service Project. In 2015, ten engineering students embarked on a challenging yet rewarding spring break experience by working on the construction of a single-story house in Jonesborough, Tennessee. During the service learning trip, the students helped install a mudsill, floor joists and decking, and the exterior and interior walls, nearly completing the framing of the house.

Eugene Gorab represents the firm in several professional membership organizations such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
The Urban Land Institute is a global network of real estate industry experts who are committed to the responsible use of land and the creation of sustainable communities worldwide. ULI facilitates several meetings and conferences to connect real estate professionals and community and industry leaders. One of the upcoming gatherings is the ULI Fall Meeting, which will be held September 18-21, 2019, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The Fall Meeting is one of ULI’s flagship events and attracts more than 6,500 attendees from different areas of real estate. The four-day event is an excellent opportunity to learn from the leading industry experts who are at the height of their careers and working on innovative projects in real estate and community development. The event is also an ideal setting for participants to network with peers and gain valuable insights on deal-making strategies. Some of the invited speakers are Nikki R. Haley, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Holly Sullivan, Director of worldwide economic development for Amazon, and Karen Washington, founder of Rise & Root Farm. Besides leading the firm, Eugene Gorab maintains an active membership with the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
The Urban Land Institute is an organization that advocates for responsible land use and the creation of thriving communities. In partnership with The Trust for Public Land and the National Recreation and Park Association, ULI launched the 10-Minute Walk Campaign to promote the developments of open spaces within a ten-minute walking distance of a community member's home. The campaign also established a partnership fund to award nonprofit organizations that are committed to creating open spaces in their neighborhoods. The first round of grants amounting to $400,000 has been awarded to eight local nonprofits. Two of the grant recipients are local community-based nonprofits from Seattle, Washington. Global to Local and Latino Community Fund Washington received $40,000 and $62,500, respectively. Meanwhile, Bicycle Colorado and Trails & Open Space Coalition, both from Colorado, received $60,000 and $30,000 each. In Atlanta, Georgia, Park Pride will use a $40,000 grant to assist in drafting conceptual plans for the use of schoolyards as community green spaces. Also from Atlanta, Georgia, the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance will use its $10,000 grant to increase awareness and engagement among community members in advocating for parks. Lastly, the ELLA Library and Net Resource Foundation from Chattanooga, Tennessee, received $35,000 and $62,500, respectively. The Real Estate Roundtable gathers the top leaders of publicly-held and privately-owned real estate firms, as well as the industry’s major trade associations to solve key national policy concerns related to real estate and the whole economy. The Roundtable and trade association leaders combine their efforts in recognizing, evaluating, and coordinating policy positions to provide awareness to the government and the public about the important role of real estate in the global economy. Two of the partner associations of the Roundtable are The American Hotel and Lodging Association and The Crew Network. 1. The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA). Based in Washington, D.C., this association has been helping the hospitality industry for over a hundred years now. AHLA solely represents all the segments of the millions of jobs in the lodging industry, including hotel owners, franchisees, independent properties, and state hotel associations. Its focus revolves around strategic advocacy, communications support, as well as education provisions for the industry’s advancing career opportunities. 2. The CREW Network. A premier business networking organization, CREW Network supports women’s accomplishments in commercial real estate. Its nearly 10,000 members come from 72 major markets in North America, and represent almost every discipline in the industry.
